Homeland Security

We live in a dangerous world and our nation is at risk. Over 85% of our nations critical infrastructure is owned or managed by private industry. It is only through a public/private partnership that we will we be successful in protecting our critical infrastructure and key assets.

The U.S. government is in the process of compiling a nationwide list of critical infrastructure and key asset sites. The numbers are already over 100,000. The costs to protect these assets will run in the billions of dollars and will require companies working in partnership with the government to research and develop technologies, products and services to get the job done and keep our homeland safe. And the job is daunting. Issues such as, Physical Security, Cyber Security, Standards, Interoperability, Biometrics, Threat & Vulnerability Assessments, Crafting a comprehensive database of critical sites, R&D efforts, protecting SCADA and DES systems, First Responder requirements, and the list goes on. If we are going to be successful in preventing another attack, there is much work to be done and very little time to accomplish it.

The next conference will be held in switzerland in the city of Verbier located in the nice canton Valais.
